Elastomers for applications in which the operating temperature, operating pressure, compatibility of chemicals and the installation situation are particularly important.
This copolymer outperforms many other elastomers even under the most demanding conditions. One of the excellent CHEMFLON™ properties is the resistance to water/steam and oils even at very high temperatures (up to 280°C)
CHEMFLON™ performs in the harshest conditions (e.g. oilfield exploration and production, chemical petro-chemical and refining, aerospace and automotive industries.
Some media become more aggressive in a mixture with other media despite appearing to be compatible and will damage seals made of NBR, EPDM or FKM.
This problem also exists when the seal is required to separate two or more different media.
A CHEMFLON™ seal may solve this problem in a more cost-effective way than a FFKM seal.

to seal water, steam or aqueous solutions from quench oil, lubricating oil or heat carrier oil.
EPDM is not suitable because of the oil. Based on economic considerations, FEP-coated O-rings with all their disadvantages are then frequently the next choice.
In comparison, CHEMFLON™ offers a considerably longer useful life, especially at higher temperature.

KED Seals presents CHEMFLON® 1285, a new FEPM grade (based on Aflas by AsahiGlass) which is FDA compliant and meets all of these requirements. This material, which is also much more economical than expensive FFKM materials, is significantly superior to materials such as silicone, EPDM and FKM especially under aggressive conditions. The currently biocompatibility requirements according to the USP (United States Pharmacopeia) Class VI can be met as well.

HNBR is suitable for applications requiring higher temperatures. Compared with NBR, HNBR tolerates higher temperature while maintaining the same resistance against mineral oils, motor oils, amine/oil mixtures, oxidizing petrol, lubricating oils, mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids, animal fats and plant oils, Diesel fuel as well as ozone, acidic gas, dilute acids, dilute alkaline solutions and also the new bio oils (biologically degradable oils).
At the same time, HNBR features high tensile strength and good resistance to abrasion.
